The Nightcap
I went to some party
A couple of lonely Fridays ago
I sipped on my keg beer
Grabbed me a corner
Spent the night dancing alone
I was by myself
In a crowded room
Suffocating with nowhere to go
Then I found just what I came for
This girl that I barely know
Awkwardly, I refilled my cup
Made my way for the girl
We shared an embrace
Then started to chat
And I forgot the rest of the world
Time passed us by
Another three or four cups
Then it was time to head home
She felt alright to drive us to my place
For a nightcap, fast food, and a bowl
Despues de fourthmeal
And a round or two of bong rips
To bed we decided to go
She was looking beautiful
I was feeling happy
For the first time since I don’t know
She curled up beside me
I wrapped my arms around her
Not caring where this thing would go
I held her tight
Then kissed her shoulder
She told me something I didn’t want to know
She told me about some party in August
She went as a freshman to three years ago
Introduced to some frat boy
When she was just drunk enough
To let him take her back home
Things heated up
When she tried to cool them down
Frat boy didn’t want to let go
She tried to fight him
But didn’t have the strength
When he finished he was straight for the door
By this time the waterworks
Were really flowing
My head spinning, I forgot where I was
I kissed her forehead, pulled her in tight
Said, “Girl you’re worth more than a nut.”
We laid motionless
Not two more words whispered
Until the sun started to rise
We each said, “Good morning”
Before kissing good night
Found peace in the look in our eyes
Lonely, alone in a crowded room
A couple of Fridays ago
Hoping for a chance to show who I am
To this girl that I barely know

She saw you, you saw her..and the I see your core. You are more than you give credit.

You definitely do have a way with words. Just beautiful.
